Ellie is outgoing and personable, with a real passion for creative photography, drawing and blogging. Ellie’s positive attitude to gain employment and start making an income straight away saw her becoming an employee since October 2015 at Waitrose, whilst continuing to seek work in the world of media where she can utilise her particular interest in creative writing/blogging, applying to clients such Google and BBC for apprenticeship programmes, to which she is still waiting for feedback from the latter. In March 2013, Ellie started her own personal blog, which has had well over 70,000 viewers to date.
Living with Type 1 diabetes, Ellie, in 2013, spoke in the House of Commons for Diabetes UK to increase the exposure and awareness of children suffering with the illness and the importance of care from an early age. A year later, Ellie then spoke on the behalf of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) in Parliament to increase government funding in research in Type 1 diabetes.
Outside of work Ellie is a big fan of music and social media, making use of the major platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram. The latter of which, Ellie set up an account for her pet cat, which to date, has 7000 followers! Ellie has made this possible through the use of creative photography and maintain a very high level of communication with the followers engaged in the account, requiring high levels of planning and communication.
